Department of Texas VFW Auxiliary President
2020 - 2021
Ramona Henson was installed as Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Texas Auxiliary President at the June 2020 State Convention in Georgetown, Texas. She joined the Auxiliary in June 2007 under the eligibility of her Father, Donald Frances Vetter. Mr. Vetter served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War.
She joined VFW Post 4820 Auxiliary in Port Neches and later transferred to Orange VFW Post 2775 in Orange, Texas. She has served as Auxiliary President at 4820, and at 2775. She served 3 years as District 2 President and served all the chairs in Department before finally being elected as President. She has served several chairmanships at Department, District and Auxiliary level. She has won several awards, including Outstanding District President and The Barbara Hoffman Outstanding Auxiliary Member Award. She also served as VAVS Rep for Beaumont VA Clinic for the past 8 years.
She is married to Richard Henson Jr. who served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1981. Most of the time he was stationed at Washington State Naval Keyport Torpedo Station. Her brother, Mark Allen Vetter, served in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1976 on the USS Vulcan and the USS Fiske.
She is the overseer of the Memorial in Bridge City, Texas called Flags of our Heroes.
In her spare time, she enjoys riding her motorcycle, fishing for walleye and muskie, crafting, sewing, and working puzzles. Her heart will always be filled with the memories of her two faithful horses Rocky and Lucky.
She will always serve with Honor, Courage, and Commitment for Our Veterans.
